Obverse description Bust of king facing right, wearing a distinctive crown adorned with two rows of pearls surmounted by a globular or floral finial. The hair is arranged in plaited locks, and the pointed beard is drawn through a ring, a characteristic Sasanian stylistic convention. The effigy is further embellished with an earring and necklace. A Pahlavi (Parsik) legend commences at the left shoulder and extends around the bust.
