Etenna was a minor city of Pisidia in southern Anatolia, caught for much of this period between the competing pressures of Seleucid withdrawal and Roman administrative reorganization of Asia Minor. The city struck its own bronze coinage in this window largely because it could — Rome's interest in small Pisidian civic mints was minimal, and local autonomy in bronze issues persisted long after silver was effectively consolidated under Roman provincial control.
The three standard references align on this type without recorded die varieties of note, suggesting a relatively stable, if modest, civic emission rather than a crisis or commemorative striking.
