Reverse description A prancing horse facing left occupies the central field, depicted in a lively, spirited pose with forelegs raised and mane flowing. The horse is rendered with characteristic energy typical of Ionian civic bronzes of the fourth century BC. A two-line Greek legend is divided around the type, reading ΑΙΣΧΡΙ to the left and ΚΟΛΟ along the lower exergual area, identifying the magistrate Aischrion and the issuing city of Kolophon.
