| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate head of Zeus facing left, rendered in the archaic Thessalian style typical of early Hellenistic civic bronzes. The facial features, though worn, display the characteristic broad forehead and heavy jaw associated with the Zeus type used by the mint of Halos. The wreath of laurel is visible encircling the head, with the portrait occupying the central field without surrounding legend. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Halos was a Thessalian city with an unusually turbulent existence — destroyed by the Pharsalians in the fifth century, refounded, then threatened again during the Third Sacred War when Philip II of Macedon besieged and razed it in 346 BC. The city was rebuilt shortly after, and this chalkon belongs to the autonomous bronze coinage produced during that revived period, before Halos faded into permanent obscurity under Macedonian and later Roman regional administration.
