| 背面描述 | A sling depicted at centre within a circular dotted border, serving as the principal type and a reference to the renowned slingers of Aspendos. The Greek letters M and Φ appear flanking the device in the field, representing a magistrate's or mint official's abbreviated name. The composition is contained within the beaded border and the overall style is typical of Aspendian civic bronze issues of the fourth century BC. |

Aspendos, a prosperous Pamphylian city controlling one of the few navigable rivers in southern Anatolia, issued bronze coinage primarily for local market transactions during a period when its famous silver staters dominated inter-regional trade. The city's silver output in this century was substantial enough to attract comment from Arrian, who records Alexander's punitive tribute demand against Aspendos in 333 BC — partly a consequence of that very wealth.
SNG France 133 places this piece within a well-documented but modestly represented series.
