正面描述 Bearded male head facing right, depicted bare-headed with curling hair and a full beard rendered in fine detail. The portrait is executed in a robust, archaic-influenced style typical of Thessalian bronzes of the fourth century BC. The effigy occupies the majority of the coin's field, with no surrounding legend or border visible.

附加信息

Eurymenai was a minor Thessalian community whose independent coinage output was extremely limited, making any surviving bronze issue significant for the historical record. The town itself disappears from the sources relatively early, likely absorbed into the reorganized Thessalian League under Macedonian pressure during Philip II's interventions in the region after 352 BC — which places this chalkon squarely in the final window of the city's autonomous monetary activity.

The BCD collection reference here is telling: lot 1038 from the landmark Nomos sale of Thessalian material represents one of the most rigorously documented appearances this type has received in the modern market.
