Obverse description Forepart of a horse advancing to the right, rendered in bold relief with flowing mane indicated by incised striations. The figure is set within a beaded border, occupying the majority of the flan. The style is characteristic of Thessalian coinage of the fourth century BC, with a vigorous, somewhat archaic treatment of the equine form typical of the regional minting tradition.
