| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Athena facing right, rendered in bold relief characteristic of late Classical Greek bronzework. The goddess wears a Corinthian helmet pushed back on her head, with the cheekpieces raised, revealing her facial features in fine detail. The hair falls in tresses beneath the helmet rim. The field is plain, with no legend or additional devices. The style is competent provincial Greek work consistent with Thessalian mint production of the late 4th century BC. |

| Reverse description | Striding male warrior figure facing left, depicted nude or near-nude in dynamic pose with spear raised in the right hand and a shield held in the left arm. The figure strides vigorously to the left in a martial posture typical of Thessalian and central Greek bronze coinage of the period. The ethnic legend ΜΑΛΙΕΩΝ is inscribed in the field, identifying the issuing community of the Malians, of whom Lamia was the principal city. The overall composition is typical of the agonistic and military iconographic repertoire of late Classical Greek civic bronzes. |
