Reverse description The Portuguese royal coat of arms, comprising a central escutcheon charged with the quinas, displayed within a crowned heraldic shield occupying the center of the field. A partial or complete circular border surrounds the central device. The legend SEBASTIANVS R P A encircles the shield, partially visible around the periphery. The flan is irregular and the strike uneven, consistent with hammered copper coinage of the reign of Sebastião I.
