Obverse description Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic inscription filling the flan, rendered in bold raised relief. The legend, set in cursive Maghrebi script, proclaims the religious formula and the authority of the Emir. The entire design is enclosed within a prominent beaded border that runs continuously around the coin's circumference, characteristic of the hammered coinage of the Emirate of Abdelkader.
