| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field occupied by the arms of Groesbeeck set within an ornate foliate frame, surmounted by a cardinal's hat with pendant tassels. The escutcheon displays the bishop's heraldic device in crude hammered relief typical of low-denomination copper coinage of the period. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, separated from the inner design by a plain border. The overall execution reflects the rough, irregular striking characteristic of hammered brûlés issued under the Prince-Bishopric of Liège in the late sixteenth century. |
