正面描述 Stylized bearded head facing left with mouth open, rendered in the abstract Celtic artistic tradition. The hair radiates outward in strands with rounded terminals, arranged in a solar motif encircling the head. Four prominent locks project forward in front of the face, emphasizing the expressive, schematic treatment characteristic of Belgic coinage of the late La Tène period.

附加信息

The Bellovaci were among the most powerful of the Belgic tribes — Caesar rated them the foremost in military strength of all the Belgae, capable of fielding 100,000 warriors by his own account. Their territory centered on the Oise valley, and their coinage continued to be struck even as Roman administrative pressure dismantled tribal minting across most of Gaul after the conquest of 52 BC. This issue belongs to that compressed post-conquest window when indigenous bronze production persisted in the northwest longer than almost anywhere else.

Cross-referenced as DT#509 and LT#8584, the type falls within a well-documented Bellovaci series but individual die linkages remain only partially studied.
