| Beschrijving keerzijde | A boar strides to the left, depicted in the schematic Celtic tradition with a prominent dorsal bristle ridge and characteristically stylised limbs. A branch or plant spray occupies the field above the animal. In the lower field, a pellet-in-ring ornament is flanked by a star or pellet grouping to each side, serving as decorative field elements typical of Catuvellaunian bronze issues. The overall composition is bold and compact within the small, irregularly shaped flan. |

Cunobelin ruled from Camulodunum — modern Colchester — and his kingdom absorbed the Trinovantes so thoroughly that Roman writers, including Shakespeare's source material, treated him as the dominant power in southern Britain before the Claudian invasion of 43 AD. His coinage output was prolific by Iron Age British standards, spanning multiple denominations and decades, which is why this small bronze survives in meaningful numbers despite its age.
The boar type is among the more regionally specific of his bronze issues, with Van Arsdell documenting the die linkages that distinguish it from superficially similar Catuvellaunian struck bronzes.
