| Beschrijving keerzijde | A bull or bovine animal is depicted advancing to the right in the central field, rendered in the schematic, boldly modelled style characteristic of Catuvellaunian bronze coinage. Above the animal, a winged figure or priest appears to be engaged in a sacrificial act, consistent with the type designation as a bull sacrifice scene. Below the bull, in the lower field, the abbreviated legend TASCI is inscribed in Latin characters, denoting Tasciovanos, father of Cunobelin. Pellets and subsidiary ornamental devices appear in the field, and the overall design reflects strong Late Iron Age Celtic workshop traditions with possible Gallo-Belgic influence. |
