The Cantii occupied the territory of modern Kent — the landing zone for both Julius Caesar's expeditions of 55 and 54 BC. That repeated Roman military pressure almost certainly disrupted Cantian coinage production and political structures significantly, making the precise dating of their bronze series difficult to anchor.
