Andoco is one of several rulers attested solely through coinage — no Roman source names him, no inscription survives beyond what the dies themselves carry. He is generally placed within the Catuvellauni sequence, likely issuing after Tasciovanus, though the political relationship between them remains unresolved. Whether he was a rival, a successor, or a subordinate operating a regional mint is still debated among Iron Age specialists.
ABC 2736 is among the scarcer attributions in the Andoco series, with a relatively limited number of recorded specimens in the Celtic Coin Index.
