Issued in 1945 by Zagreb's provisional municipal authority in the immediate aftermath of liberation, these bread coupons reflect the acute food distribution crisis facing the city before federal Yugoslav rationing infrastructure was in place. The Privremeni Gradski Narodni Odbor functioned for only a brief transitional window — a matter of weeks — before being absorbed into the broader Narodna vlast administrative structure, which makes any documentation from this body genuinely short-lived by design.
