正面描述 Stylized human head facing right, rendered in the abstract Celtic geometric manner derived from Hellenistic prototypes. The hair is depicted as a series of bold, flowing pellets and curved lines radiating from the crown, while the facial features — eye, cheek, and jaw — are reduced to schematic swelling relief forms. A small rectangular cartouche or torque element appears at the upper left of the field. The overall treatment reflects the late La Tène artistic tradition, in which naturalistic figuration is progressively dissolved into ornamental abstraction.

附加信息

The Bodiocasses occupied a small territory in what is now Normandy, centered roughly around modern Lisieux. Their coinage output was limited, and the geometric abstraction seen in this series reflects a deliberate regional stylistic choice rather than artistic decline — Gaulish minters of this period were fully capable of naturalistic work when they wanted it.

DT#2264 is among the more precisely catalogued of the Bodiocasses types, owing largely to Delestrée and Tache's fieldwork in the Seine basin assemblages.
