Obverse description Quartered shield bearing the arms of the Bishopric of Chur, depicting heraldic charges in each quarter within a bordered escutcheon. The shield is centrally positioned in the field and surrounded by a beaded inner circle. The circular legend in uncial Latin characters reads: ✠ ORTLIEB · EPS · CVRIEIS ·, referencing Bishop Ortlieb von Brandis (1458–1491). A small cross appears at the top of the legend, serving as an initial mark.
