| 裏面の説明 | Uniface blank planchet reverse, completely unadorned and free of any devices, legends, or exergual markings. The surface displays the same smooth copper-plated steel finish as the obverse, with a uniform reddish-brown patina across the entire field. The rim retains the slightly irregular profile typical of a planchet that has not yet passed through the coining press. |

Blank planchets escape the coining press through mechanical failure or operator error — a mis-fed strip, a timing fault, or an ejection malfunction that pulls an unstruck disc through quality control undetected. Euro cent planchets are produced at private blanking facilities before shipment to national mints, which means the point of escape could precede the actual striking operation entirely, making attribution to any single mint nearly impossible.
