| Obverse description | Crowned castle with three towers enclosed within a six-lobed inner circle formed by a double line border, symbolizing the arms of Castile. The central tower rises prominently above two flanking turrets, each with arched openings, in the characteristic Gothic heraldic style of the Castilian mint. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire design, reading ENRICVS REX CASTELLE. The billon alloy (approximately 6.9% silver) gives the coin its characteristic dark, leaden appearance consistent with low-denomination issues of Enrique IV. |
