Obverse description Central field dominated by a large Gothic letter K, flanked on either side by a fleur-de-lis. The inner field is surrounded by a border of twelve fleurs-de-lis arranged in a circle, characteristic of the feudal coinage of the Archbishopric of Lyon. The overall design reflects the Gothic stylistic conventions of late 14th-century French ecclesiastical minting. The coin's irregular flan and hammered fabric are typical of contemporary French feudal silver issues.
