Reverse description The reverse displays a floriated or plain cross pattee dividing the field into four quarters, each containing a crown or lis motif in the typical Blanc au couronne style of Louis XI. The cross is set within a raised inner circle, with the field showing characteristic flat striking due to hammered production. A Gothic uncial legend, notably doubled on this variety, encircles the design between the inner and outer beaded borders, with the Angers mint mark (crescent) present.
