Reverse description Central field displays a heraldic shield divided per fess, with the upper half bearing a royal crown rendered in relief and the lower half quartered or divided per pale, each compartment containing a rampant lion passant — emblems associated with the arms of Luxembourg. The shield is set within a beaded inner circle, with a toothed border separating the central device from the peripheral legend. The uncial Gothic inscription runs continuously around the outer field. The overall engraving style is characteristic of late 14th-century Luxembourgish hammered silver gros coinage, with bold relief and slightly uneven strike on an irregular flan. A suspension hole is present at the top of the flan, consistent with the obverse.
