| Beschrijving voorzijde | Densely struck Arabic legends filling the entire field of this irregularly shaped hammered flan, executed in a fluid Nasta'liq-influenced script characteristic of Safavid coinage. The Shi'a profession of faith (shahada) is inscribed across the face in multiple lines, acknowledging the divine authority of Ali as the rightful successor. The script is deeply incuse, with pronounced raised lettering against a slightly granular silver ground. The flan edges are irregular and show typical characteristics of hand-cut hammered production. No border or decorative frame is present, with the legend extending nearly to the coin's periphery. |
