Obverse description Central device depicts a single-headed eagle displayed, with wings spread and talons visible at the base, rendered in a bold, archaic hammered style characteristic of late Georgian coinage. The eagle is shown facing left with a stylized crown or ornamental element to the sinister side of the head. The entire design is enclosed within a plain inner circle surrounded by a prominent outer border of large raised pellets, typical of Tiflis Mint hammered copper issues. The irregular flan and variable relief are consistent with hand-struck production at the Tiflis Mint in the final years of the Kingdom of Kartli-Kakheti.
