Obverse description Central design features a radiant sun with a human face at zenith, its rays fanning across the field above a row of five volcanoes rendered in high relief with a polished bronze finish. The legend encircles the design within a beaded inner ring, with the date range 1821–2021 in the lower exergue, all bordered by a ring of one hundred small stars and an outer rim of pointed denticles.
