Obverse description Bust of Honduran national hero José Cecilio del Valle in low relief at center, with his name inscribed below. Five Central American national coats of arms arranged in a semicircle above the effigy. The issuing association name and chapter appear in the inner field, with the words DIOS, UNIÓN, and LIBERTAD in the outer legend and the commemorative ratification date RATIFICADO EL 4 DE OCTUBRE DE 1823 along the lower rim.

The outer field bears the commemorative event title Bicentenario de Independencia Absoluta de Centroamérica, the dates 1823 and 2023 flanking the sides, the date 1 Julio at the base, and the mint mark PRM, designer's initials W.P., and fineness inscription 1 ONZA TROY .999 in the lower exergue.
