| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a large Gothic letter 'B', flanked on either side by a pellet, all set above a line of pseudo-Kufic inscription imitating Arabic script. The outer margin is similarly encircled by a continuous band of pseudo-Kufic legend, reflecting the Crusader practice of copying Fatimid or Ayyubid dinar types to facilitate trade in the Levantine markets. |
