Reverse description The reverse bears a four-line horizontal panel of bold Arabic calligraphic legend, divided by ruled lines into distinct registers filling the central field. The inscription reads the full royal titulature of Sultan Mahmud II, proclaiming him Sultan of the two Lands, Khan of the Seas, and Sultan son of the Sultan. The text is rendered in a robust, angular naskh style characteristic of Ottoman coinage of the period. A dotted inner border frames the inscription panel, with a beaded outer border encircling the entire reverse field along the rim.
