| Obverse description | The obverse bears a text block in relief with a large Roman numeral X at the top of the field, followed by a multi-line inscription commemorating the 10th Berg- und Hüttenmännischer Tag at the Bergakademie Freiberg, Saxony, dated 27–31 May 1958. The medal is struck in brown Böttger stoneware porcelain with a suspension hole at the top. |
