Obverse description High-relief cast scene depicting a robed figure of Saint Ignatius of Loyola at centre, gesturing toward the Virgin Mary appearing in glory at upper right, surrounded by four children in various attitudes of reverence and wonder. The facade of the Colegio de Belén building is rendered in low relief in the background. The medal has an arched, irregular shape with a suspension loop at the top flanked by laurel sprays. No lettering appears on this side.

Reverse description The reverse features a central circular medallion bearing a quartered heraldic shield combining the arms of Cuba (diagonal stripes and a key) with the Jesuit device (IHS monogram with a sun above and a torch below), set within a beaded border. The surrounding legend reads the school name, city, centenary dates, and the Jesuit motto, with the initials A·M·D·G placed at the four corners of the field. The arched surround is decorated with laurel sprays and a suspension loop at the top.
