Reverse description Central motif is a bold cross pattée and fleury, its four arms terminating in elaborate floral and foliate flourishes that fill the quadrants of the inner circle, executed in the ornate late-Renaissance hammered style typical of Swiss cantonal Batzen coinage. The date 1569 appears divided across the upper field, flanking the top of the cross. A beaded inner circle encloses the cross, while the surrounding circular legend, punctuated by cross and star stops, carries the Calvinist-influenced motto SOLI DEO GLORIA alongside the devotional inscription CRVCEM TVAM ADORAMVS.
