| Reverse description | A ornate cross pattée with elaborate foliate and scroll terminals fills the central field, its four arms radiating symmetrically from the centre and terminating in decorative flourishes. A beaded inner circle encloses the cross design, while the circular Latin legend + CONCORDIA · RES · PARVAE · CRESCVNT runs between the inner and outer borders, translating as 'Small things flourish by concord.' The design is crisp and well-centred, consistent with the civic pride expressed in the motto, and typical of the decorative cross-type reverses employed on Swiss cantonal Batzen of the early seventeenth century. |
