Reverse description A bold plain cross occupies the central field, its arms extending nearly to a beaded inner circle that separates the central device from the surrounding marginal legend. The cross is rendered in a simple, unadorned style characteristic of early seventeenth-century Swiss cantonal coinage. The circumferential Latin legend reads *CVM HIS QVIOD PACE ERAM P, distributed evenly around the beaded border.
