备注

The English, Scottish and Australian Chartered Bank operated in Australia from 1852 under Royal Charter, eventually absorbed into the ANZ Banking Group through a series of mergers completed in 1970. S.T. Leigh & Co. was one of Sydney's principal commercial printers of the period — a local firm responsible for a significant volume of colonial financial stationery rather than a specialist security printer, which makes the watermark here essentially the primary anti-forgery measure. Cheques printed by Leigh for colonial banks are moderately scarce as archival survivors; most were cancelled and pulped after reconciliation.
