Aanvullende informatie

Castiglione delle Stiviere was a tiny Imperial feud in the Gonzaga orbit, and its minting rights in the 1590s were exercised under Rodolfo Gonzaga — whose tenure coincided almost exactly with the beatification process of his brother Luigi, who would become patron saint of youth. The invocation of both Peter and Francis on this baiocchella reflects the Franciscan devotional politics of a court simultaneously managing a canonization campaign in Rome.

MIR 144/5 distinguishes this die pairing from closely related varieties — attribution without the reference is unreliable.
