| 背面描述 | Saint Francis of Assisi depicted kneeling to the left in his Franciscan habit, arms outstretched and receiving the stigmata, with rays of divine light emanating from the upper left field. The figure is rendered in a naive but expressive hammered style characteristic of provincial Italian coinage of the period. The date appears in the exergue, and a partial Latin legend surrounds the design within a beaded border. |

Castiglione delle Stiviere was a small Imperial fief in Lombardy held by the Gonzaga branch established by Ridolfo Gonzaga, and its coinage rights — exercised sporadically — reflected the family's persistent efforts to assert autonomy within a politically crowded region. The FRANCISCVS in the legend identifies this as struck under Francesco I Gonzaga, who ruled the fief from 1586 until his death in 1616. The PATERNIA designation on this baiocchella type is a point of ongoing discussion among specialists of northern Italian minor coinage, with MIR treating the group as a distinct variety rather than a simple mint variant.
