| Reverse description | Plain field enclosed by a large oak wreath tied at the base with a ribbon bow, the entire surface engraved with the recipient dedication text. The inscription records the award to William Jones, who aided by others at the risk of their own lives rescued several individuals from death by fire at Messrs King and Witts Stores, Southampton, 17th November 1837. |
