| Obverse description | Shield-shaped gold and enamel badge featuring the Prince of Wales' three feathers with the motto 'ICH DIEN' on a scroll, flanked by the enamelled shield of France (blue with gold fleurs-de-lis) to the left and the quartered arms of Wales (red and gold with lions) to the right. The initials 'FWU' appear in enamelled letters at the top of the field, and a gilt rugby ball with green enamelled foliage is displayed in the lower portion of the design.
