Reverse description Central field features the crowned McGill University coat of arms with motto IN DOMINO CONFIDO on a ribbon, flanked by two symmetrical sprays of maple leaves tied at the base with a ribbon bow. The inscription UNIVERSITAS Mc GILL MONTE REGIO is placed in four lines within the wreath. The circumferential legend reads AD GEOLOGIAM ET SCIENTIAS NATURALES EXCOLENDAS GUL E LOGAN EQ D, with the date 1864 at the base.
