Reverse description The reverse field depicts a detailed multi-figure allegorical scene representing characters from Shakespeare's plays in high relief: at left, Prospero directing Ariel who flies above holding a wand, with Cardinal Wolsey seated in contemplation below; at centre, Lady Macbeth stands draped; at right, the rotund figure of Falstaff is seated, with a standing armoured Henry V beside him. The inscription appears in a recessed exergue panel at the bottom, with the engraver's signature below.
