Reverse description A complex allegorical and theatrical scene in high relief featuring multiple figures from Shakespeare's plays arranged across the field: on the left, Prospero raises his staff while Ariel flies overhead; in the centre, a draped female figure (Lady Macbeth) stands prominently; to the lower left a kneeling figure appears; and on the right, the seated rotund figure of Falstaff is attended by the armoured Henry V. The inscription is arranged in three lines across the lower exergue.
