Obverse description Seven classical female figures in high relief stand upon a platform: the allegorical figure of Victoria, at right, receives a delegation of six sister colonies, each bearing symbolic gifts. The legend INTERCOLONIAL EXHIBITION arcs around the upper field, with VICTORIA and the date 1866 inscribed in the exergue. The engravers' signatures J. STOKES and MEDALLIST appear below the platform.
