Reverse description Athena, helmeted and in full armour, stands centrally holding a long spear and a large shield bearing a heraldic lion rampant, with a kneeling armoured figure at her right. A classical galley with ornate prow appears to the left, trophies of arms are scattered in the foreground, and amphorae are visible at right. The Greek legend ΑΙΕΝ ΑΡΙΣΤΕΤΕΙΝ appears in the exergue below a beaded border.
