Obverse description Young bare-shouldered bust of Queen Victoria left, wearing a mural crown and a drop necklace, set within a quadrilobe inner border. The engraver's signature J. MOORE is visible at the base of the bust. The circular legend around reads BIRMINGHAM SOCIETY OF ARTS FOUNDED MDCCCXXI, with decorative foliate ornaments at the base.
