| Obverse description | The arms of the University of London displayed in high relief at centre, featuring a quartered shield with an open book in the upper quarter, a crown and a Tudor rose in the lower quarters, supported by two elaborate cartouche-style supporters with floral swags. The legend 'UNIVERSITY OF LONDON' arcs across the upper field and 'PRIZE MEDAL' along the lower, both separated from the rim by a border of alternating ovals and pellets. The engraver's signature 'B. WYON' appears at the base of the shield. |
