Obverse description Central field bears the heraldic arms of Taunton's School, comprising a shield charged with a chevron and three tasselled knots, surmounted by a crest of an armoured hand holding an arrow. A ribbon scroll below the shield bears the motto in relief. The circular legend around the border reads the school name and founding date, separated by two raised dots, within a milled border.

Obverse lettering TAUNTON'S SCHOOL, SOUTHAMPTON • RESPICE FINEM • FOUNDED 1760
Reverse description Plain field entirely engraved in ornate lettering with a presentation inscription commemorating the recipient's chairmanship of the 20th Old Boys' Dinner, dated 24th November 1922. The maker's mark of J.W.H & Co and hallmarks appear at the base.
