Obverse description Shield-shaped gold fob medal with polychrome enamel decoration, suspended from a gold ring. Three enamelled heraldic shields in relief are arranged around a central white Yorkshire rose: the Lancashire shield (red with three gold lions passant), the Cumberland shield (green and blue with a castle above wavy lines), and a lower shield bearing the Cross of St George with lions. A small oval rugby ball in relief appears at the top centre of the field, flanked by green enamel banners bearing the legend LANCASHIRE, YORKSHIRE, and CUMBERLAND, with RUGBY FOOTBALL LEAGUE inscribed around the shield roundels.
