Obverse description A nude female allegorical figure with long flowing hair rises in high relief from a low brick wall, raising her right arm aloft to hold a blazing acetylene flame that radiates dramatic sunburst rays across the upper field. Her left arm rests against the wall beside her. The engraver's signature LAUER appears in small letters in the lower exergue.

Reverse description The central field bears a three-line inscription in Gothic script within a laurel wreath tied at the base. A circular legend in Roman capitals runs along the raised border surrounding the wreath.
